Received a msg text almost identical to others listed here inquiring about a motorhome we have listed in RV Trader. Several emails back and forth today also with the exact same story about the mechanical condition, gift for dad, no problem paying our requested price, paying Paypal fees, then finally the business about needing to include the shipping agent fee in the Paypal transfer. He sounds intelligent, not like most scammers. We kept asking ourselves how he could be scamming us so decided to google him and found these posts. He apparently detected our reservations and mentioned early on how this transaction involved HUGE TRUST on his part and expected the same from us. Oh brother...

Thanks for your response. I am interested in the immediate purchase. I will take it for the price you've mentioned and I will gladly cover PayPal charges from my end.
I can only make the payment via paypal because it's very safe and secure for both of us. In case you don't have a paypal account I'll advice you to register for one at paypal.com. I have a private pick-up agent that will contact you in-order to handle the pick-up at any location of your choice once the payment is completed.
Question: I'll like you to tell me more about the present mechanical condition, how often do you service it, mechanical history, have you ever experience any mechanical problem with it before and why are you selling it?

Got a text message 336-481-0809, which was a LAN line, through SendHub.com to me regarding ad on cars.com:
"Kindly msg me on micrakar at gmail. com if you still have the auto on cars for sale and pls confirm the price. -more *sendhub url*"
Then got a second message a couple minutes later:
"This msg was sent by Alex. Msg/Data rates may apply. Reply STOP to block this number or UNSUB 3 to leave this group."

Initially, I received a text asking me to email this person (Alex) at the email listed above. The following are the emails I received from him:

After the third email I just ignored him. This only happened yesterday, so we'll see if I receive any other emails from "Alex Jones".

Attempting to buy via rvtrader.com Looking to confirm availability and price. Both of which are already on the site. Spelling shortcuts and the fact that most people do not purchase RV's via a text message makes it obvious. Wanted to post the phone number too.

.This person who calls himself Alexander Jones found my ad on cars.com to sell my car. He sent me the exact same email about wanting to buy my car that has been reported on this site as a fraud. He even sent me his linkedin page! I opened a Paypal account as he requested, but I became suspicious when he asked me to send a moneygram to the agent who would pick up the car. I googled him and found this scam information on this site. Beware- this guy is good! He calls himself an oceanographer and he is at sea tryng to give his dad a gift.

Recently received a phone text then email from person named Alexander Jones wishing to buy an item listed on cycle trader that I was indeed selling. I did some research on the internet and found word-for-word the same responses this person sent to another individual on the scamdex site! These guys are good! Here's some of the responses from "Alexander". It's the same as other responses reported on this site. Great idea to surf the net! Saved me much headache!
