A previous poster to this website alerted me to this scammer, after I became suspicious. I was selling an instrument on Gumtree and became suspicious after the \"buyer\" seemed to insist that I use Paypal for the transaction, and ignored my responses to their questions.

Exactly as in the case reported by the other poster, I initially received a text reading: \"I am interested in your music and instruments\", and advised me to e-mail to \"Janice Cullen janicullen@hotmail.com\".

The e-mail response I received, identical to the other scam report, read: \"Thanks for mailing,i am very motivated to purchase item from you.There are few details i will like to know...What\'s the present condition,service detail,

1)Why are you selling ?
2)What\'s the present condition ?
3)Pictures available?


I will be paying through PayPal because i have a verified account with PayPal,it safe and secure way to get paid online, fast and easy to use..Kindly get back to me your PayPal details(Holder name and email address) to make my money go straight through your PayPal account.. shipment will be handled by me, and also location where the item will be pick up so that i can forward it to my pick up agent.. Get back to me if my approval is granted...

I responded with the requested item details, and stated that I preferred not to use Paypal, to which they responded with:\"I will pay you now,I have a verified account with PayPal, kindly get back to me with your email address now to effect the payment in your PayPal account, if you don\'t have a PayPal account kindly sign up it is simple,safe and most secured means of an online transaction by logging on to www.paypal.com and sign up an account and get back to me with your paypal email address to send you the money asap..

This is when I became suspicious and checked up on Paypal scams and Janice Cullen, and found that indeed I was very nearly duped.
