This person purchased an item then claimed it was no longer wanted and was sending it back. The day I am to receive it I get a padded envelope from a few towns over with a piece of paper inside that appears to be a entirely different scam. I happen to check on the status of my return shows delivered. I call mail carrier and she tells me it was only the one item. I then use a bar code reader on the package tracking bar code the numbers comes up as the missing return item tracking not the printed numbers under the bar code. Solved, I contact ebay and they refuse to act refund the scammer out of their pocket. I am attempting to press charges on my own.
Follow Ups/Extra Information. Most recent is listed first.
The person (Michael Rossi) under the business/store name Cuddles-Candles bought several items on ebay then filed a return saying they changed their mind. However instead of returning the items they instead sent a piece of paper (fake advertisement to a gambling site) inside a white bubble mailer in a 3OZ first class package with tracking. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038304_o.jpg They attempted to send back the piece of paper instead of actually returning the items. They tried to hide what they had done by altering the return address from the NY address it was sent from and changing the address to a CA address and altering the USPS TRACKING Number that is listed under the barcode. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038283_o.jpg I Recieved two packages in the mail one sent 12-26 with a fake return address of Woodland Hills, CA 91367 and the other sent 12-30 with the fake return address of Apple Valley CA 92307 both with the same tracking number http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038318_o.jpg and http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038336_o.jpg
I initially thought this was suspicious because why would a company bulk mailing pay to send out a first class package with tracking instead of sending it as a letter. I became more suspicious when I received a second one and noticed that the tracking numbers were the same on both packages. They both had the tracking number 9400509607709968996894. This is of course impossible. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038356_o.jpg
I took a close look at the barcode and realized that the bar codes looked different on both. So I took it to the post office and had them scan them for me. They both came up different on their screen then the 9400509607709968996894 below the barcode.

The Postal People Investigating looked up the the false tracking number 9400509607709968996894 photoshopped below the barcode on the label. It is not a first class package and is a Non Standard COD shipment. It is tied to a Pallet of packages that were Delivered in Lexington KY 40512 on 12-18 That tracking number is tied to Amazon Returns and here is the Firm Label ID for that tracking used. 5103 0SHC J896 8283 1981 If you click on that id there are thousands of return tracking numbers associated to it. Here is a picture from the print out from the USPS investigatior http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038606_o.jpg The person sells on Ebay, Etsy, and amazon with their company Cuddles Candles. It is possible that they may have gotten the tracking number 9400509607709968996894 which they photo shopped onto the shipping label from one of their own return labels for amazon or they work for amazon and have access to the account. This is also being investigated. So, what they basically are doing is instead of returning the actual items they purchase they are returning a piece of paper in a bubble envelope. This is then scanned as delivered as far as ebay and the postoffice is concerned. However in the process they have committed postal fraud a federal offense by altering the return address to make it appear as if it is from CA and not NY. This is done to throw the seller off and not realize what has happened. Most people just throw away the package and think it is junk mail. They have further tried to hide their tracks by altering the original tracking number associated with the barcode by replacing it with a fake tracking number. Those who were maybe suspicious are thrown of again because at first glance the tracking number on the package does not match the tracking entered into the return on ebay. However, tracking number that actually comes up on the computer when the item is scanned is actually the one that they have given ebay. Most sellers are left wondering where the package got to after it was scanned delivered, and have no idea what has happened to them. The buyer has purchased real postage and then scanned the label and altered the label and reprinted it with a different return address and different Tracking number under a legitimate tracking barcode. I suggest you do what I did and take it to the post office for them to investigate. I also got them to scan in their system print it out and then write for me what comes up on the screen when they scanned it and then stamp it with the USPS date stamp to prove that it was in fact verified at the postoffice. Otherwise it is very hard to prove to ebay the deception this person has pulled off. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038554_o.jpg http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038541_o.jpg http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038482_o.jpg http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/8/3/1/6/5/6/webimg/876038508_o.jpg
The address that they have packages sent to is:
Cuddles Candles 1525 College Point Blvd College Point, NY 11356-2209 However this address is actually a Retail Fish store and there are apartments above. There are actually 31 people attached to this address and he is not the owner of the property. Likely a tenant.

Ebay buyer purchases an item and later says they changed their mind and would like to return it. Buyer will end up sending you a package full of junkmail and immediately call Ebay to provide them with the tracking number of the "return package" so that they get the full refund. In the end, this buyer keeps the item and a full refund. This buyer operates under the username cuddles_candles on Ebay.

This person purchased an item from me on eBay under the user ID "cuddles_candles". They contacted me shortly after receiving the item saying they no longer wanted it and would like to return the item. I never received the item, but what I did get was a padded mailer with some junk tickets to some sort of seminar. They used the tracking number from that package to represent to eBay that they had returned the item. eBay gave them a refund. Luckily I found this site with almost word for word information from another person where cuddles_candles had done the same to them. I contacted eBay and got my money back and reported them.
