The person who claims to be Srgt Smith Bowman is a scammer. Please, be aware of him. He says to be an American soldier deployed to Afghanistan. He finds his victims on Rainbow Christians web-site.
Follow Ups/Extra Information. Most recent is listed first.
Found me on Rainbow christian.com. He said he was in London due to a court case where he is fighting his uncle for control of funds. He is a charmer and after a couple of weeks, he told me he needed additional funds to pay for court costs to get his 5.7M British pounds.
I looked up his email address here and found he has used this kind of scam before. I never send money to people.

He says he is stationed at the US Military Base in London, born US citizen. Mother is in Kentucky and father is Guatemalan, so he has a strong latino accent. After a few lengthy emails he started telling me he loves me, and that we will be happy for the rest of our lives together. He said he lost his partner 4 years ago to lung cancer, named Kevin (which, coincidentally is the name of his rooma mate on the base in London). We have spoken numerous times on the phone and skype...he has seen me on skype but he said his laptop doesn't have a camera. I said he needs to go to an internet cafe and let me see him, but he said he couldn't and assured me that he was very good looking. His pictures he sent are very alluring: cute and handsome. He asked me to send him money for a plane ticket to come visit me..., which actually I may have suggested being so excited that I met an angel. I looked online and a round trip is under $800 but he said that the base only wants the soldiers to fly KLM, so the cost is $1226... and that I should send $650. Then when I argued there are cheaper flights and I couldn't imagine why they wouldn't let them fly other airlines he got upset that I didn't trust him. I did send the money, but through a 3 day system on Western Union. Fortunately, I re-evaluated with my brain and looked at similar stories of scams online and cancelled the authorization from my bank in time. Though, I certainly will pay for the texts and phone calls. Rainbow Christians is not a scam site, but that's how I met him. In my investigating online I came across this similar scam post here about a Smith Bowman, also a Sargeant, who scams people on Rainbow Christians and that sealed the deal.

This man found me on Facebook. He is quiet a charmer and is very good with words. He says he is stationed in Baghdad Iraq but that the mission is so secretive that he can't show me his face or give me any details. He has a mother in Nigeria who went there to claim their inheritance of lands and many other riches. He says he will take care of me when he gets out of the Army. I did request his leave papers and paid $375 (which I will never get back) however, when he wanted me to send money to his mother who was mugged and a week later was in the hospital unconscious to help pay the doctor bills, he or someone he "borrowed" money from hacked into a company's website to pay for a check from a real credit Union in Illinois and the account of an unsuspecting woman of $3,500. I called the Credit Union to find out that the check was a fake. Even thought it came through FED-EX the very next day. His name is Sergent Toye Mansanto. Scammer
