I have a car advertised on CarPoint and received a txt message asking if the car is still available and to respond to an email.
Instant alarm raised as I have seen these before. To get some details to report to authorities I responded in the affirmative and sure enough the same type of response came back as per below:-

I have replied asking him to phone me when in Australia or to give me the number of a relative to talk to. Of course, I don't expect a reply.

Posted an ad on carsales, received a text asking to reply via email. Very similar response
Great! please consider it sold, i want this for my son who study abroad as he will be coming home shortly, i have read through the advert and i'm totally satisfied with it,sadly i would not be able to come personally to collect it, as i work on a rig as a mechanical engineer, i would have love to call but We do not have access to phone at the moment that's why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. I will be paying you through PayPal or bank Transfer, it depends on which one you prefer if so,get back to me with your PayPal email address or your bsb number and account number so that i can send you the money.I have also contacted my agent who will come for pick up and deliver it to my new house after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct. Await your reply.
Didn't ask about the price at all and seemed a bit dodgy, after googling his email address saw it on this
