Scammer advertised a room for rent. I paid deposit on the condition that I would get it back if I couldn't move there. I told him it was impossible for me to move and he still haven't paid my money. His landlord has reported him to the police for not paying rent, and I found an earlier scam warning on this website.
Follow Ups/Extra Information. Most recent is listed first.
I got scammed by him going back in 2014. He was placing adverts on gumtree for High end DJ equipment to which he never had. I lost 1000 pound, but the joy i have now knowing he will have 6 years sentence is good justice to ALL his victims.

I am not 100% whether it's the same guy or even if it's a scam. I bet it is, as it is highly suspicious.
The guy wants to buy my car, he is not living in the country that I am sending the car, and he claims that for some period he is working outside of the country. He loved the car by the pictures alone and he trust me so much that he will pay me and send another guy to get the car for him. He has no communication other than email, because of the company he works, and even on the original SMS he sent me he has used a webpage so he never revealed anything more than his email address.
He claims to pay through paypal and he wants my bank account. What I suspect is that his plan is either: - steal money from people that accidentally give him their credit card details instead of just their IBAN - send payment through Paypal, have the car delivered, and then open a paypal dispute to get the money back while keeping the car.

Scam Email
Hi again , Yes I want the vehicle but I am away and won't be back in a while due to work so I can't inspect it. Not to worry, I saw the advert and I am happy with the condition so if we eventually do business and I pay, I have a shipper that will come and finalize paperwork for me (note that I don't need the registration) and pickup it up after you might have received your full payment. By the way, I need to know a few things so if you don't mind answering, here you go; - When last did you service it? - Are you the owner or selling on behalf? - Is there anything to know that is not written on the advert? Regarding payment, A bank transfer would be the ideal method of payment to be used and I am ready to do that, so if you feel confident enough about the sale, kindly provide the necessary banking information. Although the money is going directly to your bank account, it will come from my PayPal account and once I initiate payment, you will receive confirmation letters from PayPal in your email because I will provide your email to them too. This is so because, I can't physically visit a bank branch at this time. Yes, I work offshore out of the country and mostly we are out of telecommunication services which is why I haven't called and which is why I will arrange for the shipper to call you once you have received your payment. You can also open a new bank account for the purpose of this transaction if you don't want to give out your old bank account details. If this is suitable and acceptable by you, then I guess we have a deal. Regards

Spareroom Scam Elephant and Castle (91 Newington Causeway, SE1 6BN) He got 200 Pounds in cash and we went for a drink. 2 days later, I wired another 475 Pounds to secure the room. After 2 more weeks, he told me, I could not move in, right when I came back from a holiday with nowhere to go. there are about 20 people that got scammed in this flat only. if you are affected please send a mail to the e-mail address myemailhello@easy.com so we can make sure that it is being investigated. James Bennett was advertising his single room on spareroom.co.uk. Wired him £500 deposit which he said he was sending to the landlord. He said i was moving into his room and he was moving into the room that a couple were moving out from. My move in day came round a month after i had sent through the deposit and the day i was expecting to move in he said ' mate you cant move in as they haven't moved out yet'. So i had nowhere to live. I then went on holiday for two weeks and said i needed to move in when i was back no excuses as i had nowhere to live. A week before i returned from holiday he asked for £100 for the last week of May (assuming that the couple had moved out). Got back and he said there was no way i could move in as the room was still occupied. He kept delaying and pushing back the move in day to the point where it just didn't seem like it was going to happen. He had then taken £600 from me. I I then asked for my deposit back. He kept stalling and still hasn't given the deposit back. This guy is a SCAMMER ON SPAREROOM so do not i warn you ever wire him any money.
