1 |  +1 Looking for address and phone number He replied to a post on craigslist to buy my closet doors. I wanted 80 dollars after paying 107 dollars for them. Things felt weird when he was willing to pay 80 dollars and then give me an extra 20 dollars to hold the doors for him till his \"shipper\" showed up to send them to him. Unfortunately I give him my address and phone number in a reply e-mail not thinking that anything was weird since if you post something on craigslist, you need to give them your address and phone number to pick up that thing you are selling. I had to google how scams work to understand that this is the first stage in the scam. Next they will mail you a lottery winnings letter asking for your bank or credit card number, and with that info, they apply for credit cards in your name and then you are screwed.
In one of his earlier emails to me, he said that he was hearing impaired. Now it makes sense, since asking for his phone number is a moot point if the poster is deaf.
