I posted an add on Craigslist for a small household item (under $50) and received this response via email, from J Frank Email Address nbvcgssks2@gmail.com :

Hi

Thanks for your response. am glad you still have it up for sale, I\'m
going on a vacation to London but I will instruct my secretary to
prepare and mail your payment which I\'m sure you will get in about 4 -
6 business days. I\'ll add $20 extra for the delay. I\'ll pay by M O or
cashier check so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and
your phone number) so payment can be mailed out immediately. I will
also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you must have
received and cashed the payment.

Awaiting your info.

Thanks

I responded that I only accept cash at time of pickup because I\'ve heard of people using this type of situation to scam people and give them phony checks or Money Orders. My add appears here: http://cnj.craigslist.org/hsh/3439649636.html

I was looking to sell off some unwanted merchandise on CL.
We agreed the price. Shortly thereafter I got email from scammer claiming they accidently sent me the wrong amount so when the money arrived (money order) please take my share and refund the balance.
Several days in I got 2 MOs for $950 each...being as he owed me $200, I was to send back via Western Union $1700. I began to get suspicious. So I googled the email address and found the exact same email had been sent to someone else recently. Needless to say, I'm not refunding.
Cash is king folks!
