Scammer Information Details of Scam Report
Received e-mail from Tasha Lawrence, Network Online Coordinator, telling me I had won an international lottery prize, lottery headquarters in South Africa, of $1,500,000.00 (one million five hundred thousand dollars) and that I needed to contact Martin Alta, Overseas Claims Agent, immediately to claim my prize.
This email was very official sounding. Here is a copy of the paragraph citing the \"official\" information of the drawing:
\"The result of our computer draw (8708) selected your email address attached to e-ticket number: 865432 with Serial number 2345/13 drew the lucky numbers: 28. 30. 7. 16. 5 (10 Bonus Ball), which subsequently won you the lottery in the 1st category i.e. match 3 plus bonus. You have therefore been approved to claim a total sum of $1,500,000 (One Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) in cash credited to file 2013/487921/VODA.\"
After a Google search on \"VODACOM Super Rugby Lottery\" I was lead to several sites that cinched my suspicions that this was all a scam. After all, as one site I never entered this lottery and any true lottery would not contact you by e-mail.
