Scammer Information Details of Scam Report
I was tricked into a check fraud scam through a job listing on Craigslist. The job was listed as Front desk receptionist/personnel. When I replied with my resume, I received a response that said the position was filled but I was eligible to apply for the job of personal assistant. This job included helping the president of an orphanage with his daily tasks. Soon I realized daily tasks meant receiving checks. I was supposed to take the check, deposit into my account, take $400 for my weekly pay and wire the rest to a man named Kenneth Windom. I played along for a while but I never deposited the check. Soon he emailed me and changed the receiving address to some place in the Philippines. I knew this was a scam from the start. One downer is when I tried to report this scam to the proper agencies, either their sites were malfunctioning or the email addresses didn't exist. How can we stop these criminals if the government agencies that are suppose to protect us are not functioning?
