Someone emailed our company, wanting a quote to purchase a list of products. The products are loosely related to our industry, but we do not have them listed on our website because we do not sell them.

This is typical of purchasing-scams (which I assume would end up being the stolen credit card scam, or the overpaid wire transfer scam)--they don't even read the website to see what we have for sale because it's quicker to send the same email to hundreds of companies and waste time on a lot of research.

I Googled the phone number and it does not come up as any existing company. In fact, the only listing brought up someone's report on a "who called me" type of website called "Mr. Number", and that person had received the same email I did.

The email address, engineeringinstallation926@gmx.us, shows up on that same listing. It's important to note that the email exchange, gmx.us, is a purveyor of free email addresses akin to yahoo or gmail.

Final note is that the salutation is unusual: "Hello, Good Morning sir/ma...".
