| Personal Assistant Position Scam |
On 11/10/2015 was contacted through my personal email address asking if I was still looking for a job; (recently had applied UI benefits thru my State's Unemployment website). He listed a position (personal assistant) which was the exact type of work I was looking for. He then listed a very detailed and we'll worded job description and instructions to provide my contact info: mailing address (did not state no PO Box), and phone #. When I replied to him, he asked for my resume. After submitting my resume, he said he would let me know his decision in several days. (Which was just one day ago).
There were no real red flags for me; never was asked to deposit checks into my bank account, or send any upfront payments using Western Union or some other money wiring service. But a little voice inside me told me something wasn't right, so this morning I decided to Google his name and found the SCAMDEX website listing his name and the EXACT scam I was lured into. Hopefully this posting will be able to help someone else as it did me. So thankful I didn't send SS# or any banking information!!!!
