Scammer Information Details of Scam Report
I advertised a car for sale and received an SMS on the first say of advertisement from a Wyoming number but sent through 160.com.au, a commercial SMS site requesting I contact via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Reply was as follows:
"I really appreciate your quick response,I am indeed very motivated to buy this from you, I am the tool pusher on the west aquarius semi-submersible,contact via phone would have been the easiest means to talk to you, but we are out of cell phone range and the satellite phone is playing up, email is the best means of contact for me at the moment, hope you can accommodate me on this?
Thanks for the mail..I will like to know few things about this sales? What is the reason for selling it? when last was it serviced as well...I am indeed ok with the purchase and i would have asked my courier agent to come and help me pay in cash, but due to the terms and condition of there services they don't help in paying on behalf of someone for security reasons.. I will be paying you through PayPal the safe and easy way to pay online.. Kindly get back to me with your PayPal details(name and email address) so i can proceed with the payment, but If you don't have a PayPal account you can easily set up one just log on to www.paypal.com.au and sign up as its very easy.. I will contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up also will sign the transfer papers and deliver it in my place.
Await your reply.
I declined the option to use paypal and received this response:
Thanks for the mail..Sorry the only way of making payment now is via paypal.
I was not scammed but became suspicious and searched for similar communications being made.
