1 |  +1 Gumtree car ad Australia Claims to only be able to pay for goods via paypal. Please, remember, if selling with paypal you have no seller protection for items not personally picked up or for motor vehicles. If you agree to the sale and give your paypal details, he will then ask for additional monies, which he promises to reimburse, for courier/delivery service. He requests the additional delivery monies be sent via Western Union.....thus untraceable and lost to you.
He has elaborate stories of why he can\'t send money any other way or contact you other than via email. He works for New Zealand Oil & Gas Company offshore as a rigger mechanic or some such similar story! Please don\'t trust this scammer...... |

Purports to be working on a rig in New Zealand. Asked for Paypal details to purchase an item I am selling. Alarm bells rang and I received a similar email to one reported here.
Keep an eye out for any correspondence from this guy as he apparently asks for money.
I have reported him to Gumtree.

Thanks for getting back,i\'m cool with the price likewise the condition as described on the advert,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) as a rig mechanic and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project.We do not have access to phone at the moment and that\'s why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal linked up with my ANZ bank account,please get back to me with your paypal details so i can process the payment.I have also contacted my shipping agent who will come for pick up and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.
