This person contacted me very shortly after I took out an ad to sell my car. His first contact was brief just enquiring if the car was still for sale. Several hours later a very detailed message followed saying that he wished to purchase the vehicle sight unseen for the asking price. The only problem was that he was an oceanographer and would be at sea for several weeks and the car was a present for his dad\'s birthday which was very near. He wanted the address to my paypal account to deposit the funds including the transportation fee. The whole thing sounded a bit too good to be true so I just told him the only way I would accept payment was a certified bank check or a wire transfer from his bank. I have not heard from him again.

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell. And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
