1 |  +2 car purchased for son's graduation gift, have a freight company to send off to Northern Terittory i was selling my car via Gumtree. Got a internet messaging which I can\'t reply to. Next, i got this email, as below:

Thanks for the response,I would have loved to call you directly but due to the nature i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project work, we do not have access to phone at the moment,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.
I am buying the car for my first son who just graduated on top of his class at Charles Darwin University in NT ,He studied Building Design & Architecture. I want it to be the perfect graduation gift for him and am making it a surprise package ,Does it have any history I should be aware of? and why are you selling if you don\'t mind my asking. I don\'t mind adding an extra $300.00 for you just to take down the posting..I am already in talks with freighters that will handle the pickup and delivery .I will really appreciate if you can email more info
Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy man working all day, am a (Operating Manager) am presently on-board, i don\'t have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account ,please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in NT for my son .Await your reply
I responded further to the above email and got another email back as below:

We are good to go now I will transfer the fund into your account soon. Please am trying to sort out with the pick up agent though am having little problem with them now but hope to sort it out soon. i will email you when am done with the payment kindly take off the Ad on the gumtree advert as i will deposit the fund as soon as i am through with the courier agent..

DOB- 29th oct,1992.
He proceeded to send a seemingly genuine Paypal receipt, but if paid attention closely, you would notice that it is unusual. So i googled the license number given above and found the same license number reported in ScamDex. I called Paypal and got it confirmed that it is a scam.

This guys still at it, replied to my add on gumtree. usual story, busy cant call, asked questions already answered in the add then asked for PayPal details to put down deposit etc etc

Ute is still for sale. It will be available from tuesday on. Is available for.inspection anytime but ill be using it untill monday avo...2800 as it sits atm...on/ after thursday ill be doing the battery, fixing the creeking in the front (only happens sometimes) and putting 6 months rego on her...the costs of which ill but onto the asking price so depending whats worn in the front as to what itll cost me

Thanks for getting back to me,The price of what am buying as advertised is okay by me by offering $200 to hold it and make sure it sold to me alone.. I will strongly like to make an outright purchase of this immediately due to your Integrity as stated in your ad which shown that your a real seller,I really love the condition of what am buying but please for further assurance that this real just email me some pictures of it asap.. Ive had it several months, lile tha add says im buying another vehicle (I currently have 6 amd usually only have them for a few months).
Unfortunatly I no longer use paypal due to scammers. One of which I am battlimg at the momemt. (I purchased of him and now hes claiming payment twice). If you wish to send an agent on your behalf that would be agreeable to me but I strictly only deal with cold hard cash

williamschris759@gmail.com is at it again! He just tried the same thing with us. We had our car on Gumtree and got exactly the same email from him. Luckily, and thank you, I found this stuff about him on your website. I replied in no uncertain terms to his email, and within minutes got a reply containing nothing but the original scam email, i.e. Thanks for the response,I would have loved to call you directly but etc. etc. etc. Can't he be stopped???
