She says that she is coming to my town for her bridal shower and wants her "sponsor" to mail me a check for the total for the item she wants. Several days pass and she tells me that she was out of contact because her Mother died. Check is written a few days later, but there was a mistake and it was written for too much. She asks that I deposit check for it to clear and then go to Western Union to send the money that was "mistakenly" sent to me.
I was suspicious from the start, but it wasn't until the Western Union thing that I was convinced.
What is especially sad to me is the deceased Mom reference because my Mom passed away last Christmas and I had actually given Ricca Arnold my sympathy.

Wants to place an order for a bachelorette party in your state but she is out of town. Her company is sponsoring it and will send you a certified check. She will send you tracking number. She is making funeral arrangements because she just lost her mother as well. Then you get the email that says her sponsor made a mistake and the money for her flight and accomodations was sent in one check to you by mistake and if you can deposit the check let it clear (24 hrs) and use moneygramm to send the remaining money to her travel agent in New York. I started asking more questions like what travel agency is this and what amount is being sent and what company she works for. Got no reply. So glad I started googling.
I an currently in contact with the same scammer!! She pulled the exact same stunt with me to a T, only she told me I needed to send the rest of the money to her flight agent in California. This is very disheartening. It's so sad that people have to do this. Thanks for the post, at least I'm not the only one!
