Gumtree share accomodation wanted scam
 Scammer
  Information
Name:
Yuzhe Shao
Email Address:
zolasnabs@gmail.com
Scammer responded to my gumtree share accomodation ad via email under the alias of Yuzhw Shao. She Claimed to be a female doctor on ship cruise who was relocating to Australia. In the first email she asked me for details of my place, address & pictures & total rent cost for 3 months + bond deposit amount. She also sent a copy of her passport allegedly to convince me of her identitity. Then in the 2nd she email asked me to send her a PayPal money request so that she could safely transfer 3 months advance rent to secure the place which she allegedly required as proof of her accomodation in Australia to show her employer in Australia & the immigration at the Australian port. Believing it all initially, I initiated the transaction for the money request but then I cancelled it immediately after doing a quick google search on her name & finding out that it was all a scam & many others reported of the same scam experience. I don't think I will hear back from her anymore as I have cancelled the money request. But from what others in similar situation have reported, in the follow up email she would have tried to convince to transfer money via Western union towards her freight for which she would reimburse me.. And so on & so forth the scam saga would have continued. Gumtree needs to alert all its customers about such scammers.
