As reported here, If you look him up on this site or many others dealing with online scams, you'll see David Robin. He/they try to run a scam on anyone selling a motorcycle. Posted my bike for sale. Within 10 mins, I got a text asking if the motorcycle was still available and its condition. I responded and instantly got a "I'll take it, but I have to pay via PayPal and I'll have a mover pick it up" Its the same scam that's been documented here. They try to "buy" motorcycles via paypal, they don't try to bargain, they ask the bike's condition and then say I'll take it. They/He of course has to pay you via paypal and of course they are across the country from you. In my case he was at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. As soon as I asked for an address and his air force specialist code(I was in the Air Force), they bailed out of the scam and never responded with another text. I never got him to send me the phony paypal email.
IF someone is willing to buy a motorcycle sight unseen from across the country at full price and can only pay via paypal. Its a scam!

Craigslist Ad I posted...he was slick enough to say he just moved from the location I live...he seemed a little too pressed to pay me so I asked HIM for his email address for paypal first and WHERE in my town he lived, which of course he ignored. I googled the email address and was led here. I should send him some unwanted nudes. :I

I posted my Jeep for sale on Craigslist and I got a message from
Someone who was interested in my Jeep. They asked
How many owners has it had,if it was still for sale, the condition and how long I had it for. Once I responded with that information he responded
“ I’ll take it “. But he was based in Bedford Hanscom AF in Massachusetts.
He mentioned he had a mother that would come pick up the car
And then all the sudden it turned into his agent pickup company
Was going to handle the pickup. But The pickup company
Wanted to be paid in iTunes gift cards...first of all what company
Wants to be paid in gift cards? Pretty weird. So to sum it up he sent me a fake email saying the money was there acting like paypal, I told him to give me time cause I was looking into it to make sure it wasn’t a scam and he responded in all caps that the money is gone out of his account already and it is irreversible. So I freaked out not knowing what to do and I called my friend who worked at a dealership and he said it was a scam that he had been hearing about
And he knew a few people that lost their vehicle or money.
I responded and called him out on being a scam and I received no response back.
Started doing some research on his name since he was in the military and it lead me here so I figured I would
Share my story and call him out as well.

Tried selling our car on craigslist. He contacted my husband within 30 min. Wanted our 16 yr old vehicle with 178k miles sight unseen for 4500. Said he was in Bedford Mass in the af. Currently on active duty. Kept refusing to answer what his name even was. I contacted a family member who is top clearance in the af. This jackoff even sent us a picture of a US military ID. (Fake fed id's are a federsl offense btw). Wanted our paypal info and was going to have a shipper come get it. Family member called the number from an AF line and it went to vm. Found this and sent him the link. Told him to eff off and that the USAF was notified.
I posted an ad for my car and received the same response as noted above, asked if it was available and then asked if I was the first owner and how long I had it, then he did the same thing, through Paypal, currently at Hanscome Air Force Base, a mysterious mover. Tried calling him and he responded that calling is restricted and wouldn't be able to call until "next month 25th". I asked for further information (hadn't said his name yet) and need more support, he completely ignored that and asked about the details of where the car is to set up where he should send the mover to, I again asked for his name and then he responded "David H Robin" (nice touch with the H). I then searched his name and found this on 5/21/18. Thanks for the internet and haven't heard anything from him now!

He reached out about a flatbed trailer I was selling on Craigslist in Portland, OR in February 2018. Same story:
* He's interested, but wants to know the condition and how long I've owned it.
* After my response, he wants to buy it, but needs to use PayPal because he's at Hanscom Air Force Base. A mover will come pick it up after payment clears.
* I asked him to send the mover with cash
* He insisted on PayPal because it protects buyers and sellers
* I asked for his name, email, the mover's name/company, mover's number, and to work out a pickup time
* He said he was David H Robin, 267 Concord Rd, Bedford, MA 01730. The mover is Howard Jerry.
At this point, I found this website and ended the transaction.

Looks like he's at it again...same exact story!! I'm selling my car and I've posted it on Craigslist and Facebook and I received a text asking if it was still available, I said yes, he asked the condition, and then said he'll take it. He didn't negotiate or anything. He said it'd have to be through paypal because he's at the hanscom Air Force base in MA....my naïve self believed him, and gave him my paypal link, email and home address, THANKFULLY I called my dad to tell him the "good" news and he warned me to check it out and within a minute of googling his name I found this site! I've since removed all cards and banking information off of my paypal and closed my paypal account. (*note: this all just happened within the last 2 hours) my only hope is that he didn't somehow access my banking information off PayPal before I had a chance to delete it.
There's a special place in hell for these type of people.
..and this is why we can't have nice things.
Same thing about being in the service. I advised a 30 day hold on all checks etc. Never texted back. Gov't should hang these types for the scam and using the Military as part of the scam. I have sent many of these scammers to the Federal Trade Commision.
I have a refrigerated trailer for sale. Only online for an hour or so. Got a text message asking if it was still available. I said yes. He asked what the condition was and how many owners. Said it Sounded good, he would take it, but would have to arrange done through PayPal as he is at Hanscom AFB Bedford MA. As soon as the payment cleared, he would be having a hauler come and get it. I googled the phone number, and here we are. He's not very bright, doesn't even change his name or information. What a jerk

Pretty much same thing that has been said every time! Husband had his bike for sale on Craigslist and this person texted wanting to know if bike was still available and if my husband was sole owner. This bike came with a salvage title and this guy still wanted it for asking price with out seeing it. He claimed he was at air force base in Bedford Massachusetts and that when payment clears his shipper will pick it up! Wow! I thank God for finding this list! Btw we gave them our email address and was sent things from "PayPal" not sure if it was legit or not but deleted them right away. I did open the emails and there was a payment for 600 more than the asking price. Thank you!

I have my motorcycle for sale on Craigslist for sale. I received a text this morning asking for my paypal account information to send me money. The only questions he wanted to know was if I was the original owner. Never asked for photographs or anything, stated he stationed at an air force base.

I was selling my wife's motorcycle and the conversation went exactly as described above.
"Wanna know the condition, are you the first or second owner? and how long have you had it?"
"i'll take it. I'll have to pay you through PayPal because I'm currently in the Hanscom Air Force Base at Massachusetts. I have a Mover that will come for pickup once payment is cleared in your PayPal account"
"I am David Robin and do you have a paypal account?"
I asked him for a physical ID through the Craigslist email and then found this site. I know not to deal with him at all anymore.

Posted a motorcycle today and within about 20 minutes I received a text message from 'david robbin' with interest in the bike. He as well asked me if it was available and right after said "I'll take it". Said he could only pay via paypal because he was at an AFB and he would have a mover come pick it up. I also received numerous text messages in a row. Unfortunately I gave him my email address to transfer money, and it was then when I received an email asking me to transfer money to complete the transaction and realized it's a scam!
I also am glad I saw this blog to confirm it. Thanks guys!

Posted an ad on Craigslist for a motorcycle within minutes he contacted me about it. Gave me the air force bs and the mover will come get it. Didn't negotiate price and sent me his PayPal address to request payment. Looked up his PayPal and got this page. Thanks for the heads up everyone.

They asked me if I still had my bike available, Then wanted to know the condition and whether I was the first or second owner and how long I had owned the bike. They then said they'd take it and were "currently in the Hanscom Air Force Base at Massachusetts". They sadi they had to pay with Pay Pal and would have a mover come get it once the payment cleared. I asked what his name, rank, and AFSC were, and no response, so I googled the number and here we are.

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell.
And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we
