The same experience as other reports of Kapoo project. We had a camper van advertised on Gumtree and got a message asking if the car we had advertised was still for sale. The same story about wanting to buy it for his brother who had just graduated top of his class at ANU. Asked for bank details or paypal account. Had a courier organised to take it to N.T. The camper was in Ballarat Victoria. Seemed quite suspicious from the outset , so emailed back with extra photos to make sure he was aware that it wasn't a car. No conversation around that, just thanks for the reply and send details for payment asap. I then googled AWE New Zealand/ kapoo project and was directed to the scamdex site.

Exactly the same experience as above. The scam works like this. They contact you, and for some reason are not available topick up goods - of the three I've received, the enquirer was at sea and won't be back for some time. They want the car (in my case a car for sale) immediately for a relative or the like. They say they will pay immediately by direct transfer or paypal or whatever, and they will get a courier/transport company to pick up the car and do the certificates, etc. Then they write and say the courier won't accept a transfer from them, and ask me to make the payment to the courier and they will add it on to the cost of the car. They give bank account details for the courier, which are obviously not a courier company. This is as far as I have got with them as I got so used to the scam it was just so repetitive that I wouldn;t buy into it. My guess is that one unsuspectingly makes the transfer to the courier compny, and once they have the money you never hear from anyone again. I now specify that to buy my car, I will only sell it to people who inspect in person, personally hand me a bank cheque, and pick it up at my address wth no involvment of couriers, etc etc.

By 'present condition' do you mean the cleanliness/state of the car? I had the car cleaned in and out before taking the photos and I've had it parked off-street and covered since then so it looks as it does in the photos.
Regarding the price, I'm willing to negotiate only to a certain point because replacing the timing belt was expensive and you won't have to do this for a very long time.

Please i got a mail from the shipping company now that i will need to pay for the freighting fees before they can schedule pre-shipping/ pickup date,they charged $1,350aud for the pick up and delivey, but the problem is they only accept western union money transfer as form of payment which is sent to their HQ in the UK.
As you are well aware of, I am away at sea and do not have access to western union, most post offices have western union section,will it be ok with you if I add the $1,350aud to the amount I am transferring? and as soon as the money goes through you can help me make the western union transfer of the freighting fees through western union money transfer? This person will send a text message to you asking for return details with short time span. To purchase your car he needs your bank details. Do not send this scammer anything but a jail term.
