This was in relation to an add placed on Gumtree for a Tiffany cuff.
First, a text messaged was received from the name BEC stating that they could not call due to working away

This person who is called NatashaSavva is still active but with a different email. I just had an SMS about my mobile phone for sale asking me to email. The number didn't show up on my phone just 'natasha' and there was no record on Gumtree. I texted back and it didn't go through.

Responded to an ad i placed on Gumtree. It seemed off so i googled the name and came across this page of scams.

Contacted me on Gumtree, asked for my mobile number to reach me ASAP, then after a while an SMS came through and said signal was bad and asked to correspond via email instead, afterwards I received the following.
Obviously dodgy, told them I'm not interested, then discovered here this same name 'katty moore' being used over and over again, always to do with overseas shipments. You'd think they'd change the name they're operating under every once in a while.

Advertised my sofa on gumtree and got this scammer asking to contact via email.
Please can someone tell me what the scammer was hoping to get out of the exchange. Why would a scammer want a bulky item like a couch? Or are they trying for identity theft or something else?

I have just completed the payment and i expected PayPal to have notified you to this effect check your mail folders(inbox,spam and junk mail) i sent $1,950 in all.i added $750 but $650 will be sent to my agent in China through western union at post office,the extra $100 is to cover the western union fee. Paypal said they will not release the fund until you email them the western union details for verification,and also to enable my pick up agent to come for pick up and inspection.Here is the agent's details where the money will be sent.

I posted my DSLR camera on GumTree and within a day I had a text from a computer type thing asking me to email them if it was still available. So, I emailed them and they sent me a detailed email back about why they want the camera (as a surprise gift for their son for uni graduation) and that the buyer was an oceanographer, very similar to the emails that everyone else on here has received. I got an email from "PayPal" saying that I must send the receipt with tracking number before the payment goes through. I thought that this was a bit strange, but having not used PayPal very often and never having done an overseas transaction (especially of such a large amount - $800), I didn't think much of it. I went to the post office and paid $100 to post it with extra insurance to ensure it would get there safely. I felt fishy about it afterwards so called PayPal and surprise surprise there were no waiting transactions and I had been scanned. By the time I called Australia Post it had already left Australia, but they are doing everything they can to get it back from China Post.

This is the same scammer on gumtree Katty Moore but using the name Natasha Savva (email - natashasavva2017@gmail.com) with a similar email that Katty Moore sent me this morning.
