|  Beware of emails allegedly coming from i General Trading Abu Dhabi I got contacted by a guy allegedly called Ali Abadi who claimed he was working as i General Trading's purchasing manager, asking for information on our products, without specifically referring to what we are doing (we are suppliers of stationery, gift wrapping and gift items). Already suspecting something fishy, I asked him to give me some more details on where he would see our products in his existing portfolio as well as on his targets and goals. When he replied, he did not really answer these questions. Instead, he claimed they were indeed in urgent need of wrapping papers and gift bags in large quantities. Interestingly, he asked me to confirm that our products are of supreme qualitites as he had made some bad experiences with people ripping HIM off. After I had read his response, I googled the company and phone them directly. When I told the lovely lady at reception that I received emails of which I was not quite sure whether they were sent through them, she already asked me if the guy contacting me was Ali Abadi. She had already been contacted by a number of companies that seemed to have encountered the same. |
