SCAM : T-Cup Persian Kitten (South Africa)
 Scammer
  Information
Name:
Sonia Jassen
Email Address:
sonia.jassen@outlook.com
Scam Website:
Sonia has quite a few adverts circulating where she is advertising t-cup kittens, other cats and dogs. All her adverts only have emails to where you must reply and no cell or land line number. Plus she says she is in Kwazulu Natal, but here adds say Cape Town. I fell for the T-cup kittens hook and sinker. She also provided me her physical address which is at #12 hilltop, Hluhluwe, Kwazulu-Natal. All seemed so legit. She also said the followng: \"I don\'t have a website and i am not registered with SACC becaues I am a hobby breeder, I am an accredited Magistrate but since i was 5, i rescued cats in Calgary and always loved raising them and giving out to loving homes.\" She also said I can deposit 50% or little less so that they can process the necessary paper work and change the ownership to my name while we wait for you to pickup or arrange delivery when I\'m ready! All seemed so legit. She then said the following: \"Kindly make a cash deposit to the Vet Doctors bank account because she will be responsible for carrying on with all the paperwork processes. Depositing money in my Account then to her account will be costly.
Her banking details are below;

Bank Capitec
Account holder L. R Mashiane
Account number 1341592098

I payed the full amount of R4060.23 (R3500.00 for kitty and R560.23 for flight)

This is what she said to me when I asked for her cell number. My Son is out with the car and i can\'t reach him, so please contact the courier guys and request payment details. Their Email is postanimal@post.com

This is the courier that sent this to me:
PAYMENT OPTION - CASH DEPOSIT

1). Electronic Pet Crate
The crate that your kitten was brought to be shipped in is a domestic crate, which is not suitable for long distance travel. Due to Atmospheric conditions, we require an electronically Temperature Regulated Crate for your kitten to be shipped in. We have the crates here at our agency which can be rented out to our clients. We rent it for R200. A caution fee of R3000 is applicable which is FULLY refundable upon delivery of your kitten. So if you wish to rent the crate from us; you are required to pay R 3200 of which R 3000 will be refunded to you as the caution fee upon delivery and the cage taken back to the company. But if you wish to keep the crate, then you will have to purchase it for R5000 .So make your decision and get back to us so that everything can be settled and your kitten set for Delivery.

Well when I spoke to Bryant and wanted to speak to his manager he wouldn\'t let me kept on saying if you want to say something say it to me. I also phoned Pets and Transit and I informed them of what was going on and why do I need to pay the R3000? They also looked them up and could find no records of Animal Post. I was shocked to hear that I was just scamed. Please people be very careful out there. If you see anything with these names or bank details stay away. I unfortunately got burnt badly and it still hurts to think that I looked so forward in having my little Maggie (T-Cup kitten) with me. I really do undetstand how people can get a kick and take there money from the innocent without even blinking an eye.

Since you’re here …
we have a small favour to ask. More people are visting Scamdex and Scamalot than ever but advertising revenues are falling fast and we have no 'product' to sell. And unlike many informational websites, we haven’t put up a paywall or membership barrier – we want to keep our site as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Scamdex/Scamalot websites takes a lot of time, money and hard work to keep running. We do this because we hate to see our fellow humans getting scammed out of their hard-earned money by low-lives.
