so i posted my room for rent on gumtree and got an email.
this email is remarkably similar to https://www.scamalot.com/ScamTipReports/88389

so the modus operandi might be similar. ie: pretend to offer a paypal payment, then require you to western union the paypal amount to her movers. presumably then she might reverse the paypal transaction or something

person,cool non-smoker Lady willing to rent/share the appt/room and i
am at sea at the moment as i am a coastguard agency employee in China
but i was born and brought up in Philippines.

I got transfer to work and study part time down there but due to the
nature of my work, i only squeezed out time to check this advert and
sent you a mail regarding the unit. i am ready to rent it asap so tell
me how much is the rent/share per month and how much deposit do i have
to pay. I really love your apartment i'll be glad if you can make it
possible for me to become your new tenant.
Please send me more period you wish to rent this out, Attached is copy
of my passport with this email for you to have a view of me and my
personal info.

To add, the scammer will be asking some money to be sent to the mover named Mathew Fredericks.
The scammer is the same as the scammer who used Dai Xinlu.

Scam Email
The scammer is using my name. Someone from Singapore informed me and sent me the details. I have reported this to Philippine NBI now.
