Replying to gumtree room for rent add, asked if the room was available. I said yes. She replied with the below email and included a passport of herself showing her photo.
I notice other scam reporters have reported the same name using different email addresses and saying different arrival dates in Australia, so clearly a scammer.
1st email: Thanks for getting back to me. I am a simple, cool and non-smoker lady. I am willing to rent the unit as I am at sea at the moment as i work as a Assistant Chef at US Coast Guard Marine Inspection Detachment Austria but i was born and brought up in Filipino, Philippines. I am coming to study and I will work part-time down there but due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted due to high work rate. I only squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding this. I am ready to rent it asap so tell me how much is the rent/share per month and how much deposit do i have to pay. Please send me more period you wish to rent this out, I have attached my photo with this email for you to have a view of me. Looking forward to read back from you soon.

2nd email sorry for late reply,i will be paying for 6months rent including some bond payment and let me know the total amount of them ok.
3rd email Yes, that is correct, but i can only make payment through paypal not bank transfer,because i dont have access to online banking, so kindly setup an account with paypal so that i can be able to proceed with the payment ok.
4th email Ok, no problem,i will move in by 19th Nov, so kindly get back to me with your payment details for me to be able to proceed with the payment ok.
I said I would get lease agreement to be signed.
5th email: I told you that i will sign all necessary document need to be sign on my arrive day.
Asked what she is studying, what her plans were when she arrived in Australia, these questions were not answered. Said I would need her to sign a lease before moving in.
6th email: Sorry i cant do that over here, due some security purpose, and let me know if you agree to that because my coming over date is going to due soon which is on 19th Dec ok.
Asked her if it was November or December she was moving in (as she provided conflicting dates), the November date was in 5 days time. Asked for an explanation of security risk as to why she could not complete a lease agreement. Asked for references from her employer
7th email: Yes, I confirm 19th december,which is 5 days from now and also why i said it is risk is due to some personal imformation use on scam,with some fraudlent ok.

I am very social person that respect humanity and this make it so easy for me to get along with who ever that comes my way in life. I am arriving on 7th of July and start working in Australia. I will be securing the room by transferring the rent to you through PayPal and if you do not have a paypal account kindly set up an account with them in less than 5 minutes on www.paypal.com. I would have requested for your bank details but for the safety of you and me with giving bank details online, I prefer going through PayPal. I will be so happy to secure the room as soon as you get back to me with the PayPal money request. All you need to do is to log into your PayPal and click request money, you will then send the money request of total 6 months rent to my email address for me to transfer the money. I will like to pay in advance through PayPal and my reason is that, I will be presenting the proof of my rent payment to my employer and also to the immigration at the port of entry into Australia.
