Classified Ads Scam
1 |  +3 Gumtree ad Got a reply to a listing under boats in Gumtree asking for more info. But since we had a few ad\'s going on at the same time we asked her to clarify to which ad she was replying. We got a vauge reply and then another text with yet another email address claiming she was replying for her bosss who wasn\'t text savvy! We got another number: 02 4036 3188 and the other email address was: myunclelewisgmail.com which doesn\'t even have the @ symbol in it. Since everything was so vauge, I googled her and came out here in this website seeing that really it was a scam. Didn\'t get as far as herasking for bank details or such like but just giving a heads up and adding to the list. |

I placed an ad on Gumtree today for an expensive piece of jewellery.
I received a text from this number 02 4036 3188 asking me to reply by emailing nswmarsarno@gmail.com.
I replied to the text and it was 'unable to send' and then I rang the number to inform the 'enquirer' that I do not discuss business over text messages or emails, and found the number was not connected.
Thank you to this scamdex site for letting me know it is a scammer ..

Was contacted after posting a ring for sale on Gumtree. Received a txt saying " hello mate" & asking if the ring was still for sale, if so contact him on stepmacken@yahoo.com . Didn't think they sounded legit but replied using my alternate email address. Lovely quick response stating it was for his daughter in law who has just been transferred to China so he would send her address so I could send directly to her & that he would only pay by Paypal because it was the best way for me to receive payment.
